Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion

My Companions pray with me: LORD, as we prepare for the celebration of Your passion and crucifixion, may the little crosses we bear bring You glory. Forgive us our sins of omission and commission that brings about the pain and suffering in the Body of Christ. Thank You for all your graciousness and provide all we need physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually; especially provide for our prayer requests noted here and in our hearts.

Birthdays: Madaline Jane Ross (4/9).

Keeping In-touch: Last week was a tough one as we recovered from a very valuable retreat experience with our small church community. Participating in our political process also takes time and energy. The daffodils show their bright faces and call us to smile and awake to the new life around us. Our friend, Kim, had her Peace Corps assignment canceled because of political unrest where she was headed. So she's keeping us company until she's reassigned; please keep her tops y-turby life situation in your prayer.
The Readings: Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion

Some Commentary: Fr. John Foley, S. J.
My comments and an invitation for your comments:

The "celebration of the Passion" seems as oxymoronic as "Good Friday." This is the irony of our faith: passing through suffering and death brings us to new life. Not that we go around looking for suffering, there is enough around for all of us. But we know that God wants the fullness of life for all God's creation and redeems us by participation in all our joys and sorrows.
John
