Sixth Sunday of Easter

My Companions: Let us pray for all who seek healing of mind and body, especially, Dan Gravelyn who will hopefully have a successful bone marrow transplant.  May all our hurts and pains be united with Christ's suffering which was/is/will be transformed to new life.  And let's pray for the glory of all the gifts of God's creation, especially Makayla Beth.  And, Lord, make in us, and especially our leaders, new hearts filled with love and service rather than our stony hearts of greed and selfishness.  And let's pray in a special way for all our mothers, those who are with us and those who have preceded us in faith to a new dimention of life with the Lord.

Birthdays: Anna Margaret DeBaar (5/3), Willy Smith (5/5), Molly Norton (5/6), Sharon McKay (5/7), Patrick Norton (5/8),

Keeping-in-touch: I kept very busy with the honey-do list while Nana Margaret helped with the introduction of our new granddaughter, Makayla.  I'm thankful for the help I received from my friends, Gary and Bill, and my son, Matthew.  I enjoyed my dinner with Connie and Alan as we planned camping trips... it's going to be a great summer.  I'm happy to have my Bride back and enjoy her stories and pictures.

The Readings: Sixth Sunday of Easter

Comments on the readings: Fr. Foley: “If you loved me you would rejoice.”

My Comments: Once again we have a Gospel challenge to love as Jesus loves and we see in the first reading that, right from the start, the apostles had to sort-out what was "required."  I hope as we prepare for our celebration this weekend we're looking not to what is required but to how we can love most fully.

May the peace of Christ be with each of you.

John
